Google Sites - Twitter Follow Button Gadget

Twitter have released a new Follow button, so I created a gadget to add them to your Google Site.  These instructions tell you how to add the Google Sites Twitter Follow Button Gadget to your Google Site.


  1. Go to your Google Site's page where you want to add the button and use the Edit Page button.

  2. Use the Insert menu, then More gadgets...

  3. Use the Add gadget by URL link

  4. Enter the following URL into the box:
    and use the Add button

  5. Enter your Twitter screen name (required) and choose whether you want to display the number of followers you have (Followers count display)

  6. You can change more optional extras:
    • Button colour - you can choose blue, the default, or grey which displays better on darker backgrounds.

    • Link colour - alter the colour of your Twitter screen name

    • Text colour - alter the colour of your follower count

    • Language - the gadget offers English, French, German, Italian, Korean, Japanese and Spanish.

  7. Untick the Include a border around gadget and Display title on gadget boxes

  8. Use the OK button
