Unveiled at Google I/O 2025, Google Stitch is an AI-powered design tool that transforms how developers and designers create user interfaces. Whether you're building a mobile app or a web dashboard, Stitch allows you to generate UI designs and frontend code using simple text prompts.

Powered by Google's latest Gemini model, Stitch is designed to streamline the app creation process by transforming your ideas or hand-drawn prototype designs into an actual user interface (UI). It also helps create the user experience (UX) without requiring deep design or coding expertise.

Step 1: Access Google Stitch

Visit Google Stitch and sign in with your Google account. You’ll be greeted with a clean interface offering two input options: Text Prompt or Image Upload.

The image upload option is currently available only in Experimental Mode. The Standard Mode does not support this feature at the moment, but this may change in future updates.

Step 2: Input Your Idea

Text Prompt:  

Type a description like “make a music app with a beach vibe.”

Image Upload: 

Drag and drop a sketch or upload a screenshot of your app idea.

Step 3: Let Stitch Generate the UI

Stitch will process your input and generate:

A structured UI layout tailored to your specifications.

Production-ready HTML/CSS code for seamless integration.

Multiple design variants with customizable themes and styles.

Step 4: Customize Your Design

Use Stitch’s built-in editor to fine-tune your UI:

Modify themes to match your brand or theme.

Adjust fonts for readability and style.

Select a pre-defined corner radius to shape UI elements.

Step 5: Export Your Work

Export to Figma for advanced editing and collaboration.

Copy the generated code to your IDE (Integrated Development Environment) to begin development and integration.

Step 6: Iterate with AI

Want to tweak a button or adjust the layout? Simply click the edit button or type your request, such as "add a search function to the home screen." Stitch will instantly update the design to match your input.
