AppSheet Issues That Slow You Down
Most AppSheet applications are built to solve an immediate problem, quickly. They work. Then the organisation grows, requirements change, and the app that was built for ten users starts serving fifty.
The data model that made sense in year one has accumulated columns no one can explain. Automations that used to run instantly now takes minutes to run. You know something is wrong. You are not sure exactly what, or whether fixing it requires minor adjustments or a more significant rebuild.
Steegle's AppSheet Audit is a fixed-price, independent expert review of your AppSheet application. It covers data architecture, configuration, performance, security, automations, and licensing.
You receive a detailed written report and a prioritised set of recommendations. You also get a walkthrough session with our team, giving you a clear, actionable picture of your system's health and exactly what to do next.
Clear Recommendations. Confident Next Steps.
See the Issues, Spot the Fixes, Hit the Goal
The audit is a standalone, clearly scoped deliverable. You know exactly what you are getting and what it costs before any work begins.
There is no obligation to engage Steegle for implementation, though many clients do once they have a clear picture of what needs to change.
An AppSheet audit is not for organisations just getting started. It is for organisations that are already using AppSheet and have reached a point where expert, independent review is the most valuable next step.
Our audit is structured across seven dimensions that together cover the full technical and operational surface of an AppSheet application. Every dimension is assessed against both AppSheet best practices and your specific business requirements.
Extend Functionality Through Apps Script
Many AppSheet applications are significantly extended through Google Apps Script for document generation, complex automations, API integrations, and data processing that AppSheet alone cannot handle.
Our audit includes a review of any Apps Script connected to your application. This is not standard in most AppSheet reviews; it reflects the depth of integration work we do across the Google Workspace platform.
The audit produces five distinct deliverables, designed for both technical teams and non-technical leadership.
Typical turnaround from access to delivery is one to two weeks, depending on application complexity.
When the AppSheet Developer Is No Longer Around
One of the most common situations we encounter is an organisation that has a critical AppSheet application, but the person who built it is no longer available. There was no handover documentation. The logic has never been explained to anyone else. The app is running a live business process, and nobody fully understands how it works.
This is a genuine operational risk, and it is more common than most organisations expect when they first build on no-code platforms.
An audit is the right first step. We reverse-engineer the application, document how everything works, identify the risks, and give you the foundation to either take over development internally, bring in a new developer, or engage Steegle to maintain and extend the system.
We create a full technical map of the application, including the data model, automation structure, expression logic, integrations, Apps Script functions, and user access design.
Combined with the standard audit report and recommendations, this gives you everything you need to make an informed decision about the path forward.
An AppSheet Roadmap That Reveals the Whole Picture
Seeing Beyond the Surface of Your AppSheet App
An AppSheet audit is only as valuable as the expertise of the people conducting it. The depth of insight in the report depends on whether the auditors have seen the kinds of problems that tend to hide in production AppSheet applications.
It also depends on whether they have the cross‑platform experience to recognise when a problem has a better solution outside AppSheet than within it.
Steegle is a certified Google Cloud Build Partner. Our AppSheet work is grounded in production system experience.
We have designed and audited AppSheet systems for healthcare organisations, school districts, field service companies, professional services firms, and enterprise operations teams.
The systems we review are live, business‑critical, and often complex.
Trusted Across Industries, Proven in Practice
Adaptable System, No Vendor Lock‑In
You own the platform and the data. Every element is built to match your exact business requirements.
When those requirements change, the system is updated through configuration, not through a professional services engagement with a vendor whose roadmap may not align with your timeline.
We have worked across Microsoft and Google environments, with organisations migrating between platforms and building new systems from scratch.
We know what good looks like, and we know what problems tend to appear later when foundational decisions are made under time pressure.
Switching Platforms Without the Headaches
Straightforward Answers, Real Expertise
Our audit is independent. We do not have an interest in finding more work than exists. If your application is fundamentally sound and needs minor attention, we will tell you that.
If it has serious structural problems that require a rebuild to fix properly, we will tell you that too.
The audit is a standalone service, and there is no obligation to engage Steegle for any additional work. Some clients take the report and implement the recommendations with their own team or another developer, while others use it as the basis for a procurement discussion.
For clients who prefer to move directly from diagnosis to resolution, we offer three natural next steps:
We will need read access to your AppSheet application, the underlying data sources (Google Sheets, Cloud SQL, or other backends), and any connected Apps Script projects. We do not need, and do not request, write access to production systems. All access is agreed in writing before the engagement begins.
Most audits are completed within one to two weeks from the point we have the access we need. More complex applications with multiple apps, large data models, or extensive Apps Script integrations may take slightly longer. We will confirm the timeline during scoping.
AppSheet is marketed as a no-code platform, and for simple applications it largely is. However, most business-critical AppSheet applications involve relational data design, advanced expressions, security filters, automation logic, and Apps Script integrations.
At that level of complexity, architectural decisions made early have significant long-term consequences for performance, maintainability, security, and cost. The gap between an application that works and one that is well-built is exactly where expert review adds value.
AppSheet has multiple licence tiers: Starter, Core, Enterprise Standard, and Enterprise Plus. Each has different feature sets, user limits, and pricing models. Many organisations discover during an audit that they are paying for capabilities they do not use, or that they are constrained by their current tier in ways that could be resolved by restructuring how licences are assigned rather than simply upgrading.
We give you a specific recommendation based on your actual usage.
Yes. The audit is a standalone service, but we can move directly into implementation if you want us to. The audit report becomes the brief, which means the development work starts with a shared, documented understanding of exactly what needs to change and why.
Yes, though we would scope each application separately. In some cases, auditing multiple applications at once is more efficient because we can identify shared architectural patterns and cross-application dependencies.
We would discuss the most practical approach during scoping.
A paperless ticketing system that automates workflows, tracks requests in real time, and reduces licensing costs.
A secure app that replaces spreadsheets, strengthens data integrity, and scales collaboration across remote teams.
A field service app that automates workflows, streamlines billing, and provides real‑time job visibility.
To begin, tell us a little about your application. Explain what it does and approximately how many users it has. Describe the platform it uses as a backend.
Share what is prompting you to request an audit now. We will confirm the scope and timeline, and agree on access arrangements before any work begins.
